Maintenance professionals agree, when graffiti shows up on masonry, it's often irreversible damage. Before the process that Exact Match uses, that was nearly always true.

Often the only alternative to owners or occupants having to live with the graffiti was to turn to harsh solvents or damaging high-pressure power washes. Solvents melted and stripped the glaze and finish color of the brick face. High- pressure power washes etched and destroyed not only the color but damaged the texture of the bricks or blocks permanently. These harsh techniques may or may not have removed a small ammount of the graffiti, but to the consternation of the owner, the brick  or block sustained worse damage than before.

One of the types of work we do involves brick face or brick glaze color restorations for clients who have had improper washing techniques used on their masonry.

This building was damaged by graffiti. Five unsuccessful attempts to remove the damage were made by maintenance crews. Finally, the Exact Match team was called in to neutralize the graffiti, and the damage disappeared

Exact Match Colorists are very careful with restoration techniques. This building's masonry has an aged patina, which calls for an approach that will keep the appearance consistent. Should the Colorists mistakenly restore the damaged areas to appear new, it would be mismatched.

 After the restoration, there is no evidence at all that graffiti damage had ever occured. The damaged area has been neutralized and a wash of the original color complete with the aged patina has been replicated.
